A little sunshine

Normally Brayden and I get out for a nice long walk most days of the week. Yesterday, though, it was so beautiful out that I couldnt resist trying to fit into the old tankini and laying out for a bit (and before you ask...pictures will NOT be included with this post!). In case you were wondering, I'm proud to report that it fit with the exception of it no longer staying down over my stomach. So at any rate, I did the right thing and took some pillows out there to prop myself up with and got comfy...and then the boxing match began. For some reason my little boy didnt like laying out very much. I would have thought that he would have enjoyed the warm sun on him. It wasnt too warm and he had all the space he could want, but he wasnt having any part of it. So I did what any good mother would do. I kept laying there til I was good and ready to go in!!! Now for those of you who know me well, you know it wouldnt matter how long I layed out...I wont tan. But it was just SO nice out!

When Luke came home early and found me still in the bathing suit (inside at this point), after looking really suprised and then having a giggle at my belly in a tankini, I relayed the laying out story to him. Then my husband, in all his wisdom, brought up a very good point. Baby can see light through my belly at this point in my pregnancy. If we shine a light on my belly, the little guy will squirm around to get away from the light. SO...given that I was laying out in the brightest part of the day...and on my back for much of it...my little guy had a front row seat to the brightest light he's ever seen. Upon reflection I see that I would probably be pretty mad, too! But it was just SO nice out!

Our Stroller

Yesterday the kind UPS man brought us a HUGE package that we were not expecting! It was our travel system (stroller, car seat, and base for the car) from our registry. It was courtesy of Memaw and Pepaw (Luke's parents Robin and Chris). We were so excited! We put it right together and even strapped one of my old stuffed animals (Truful Teddy if you were wondering, Mom) into the car seat for good measure. Here it is!

My little boxer

I have recently discovered the joy of the third trimester which is...being kept up by kicking as soon as I lay down at night as well as the new discovery of raw insides. I wake up in the morning feeling like I've (or my abdomen) has lost a fight, and truthfully it has.

I called my mom yesterday to ask if this was normal, and she assured me that it is, and that I'm getting exactly what i deserve because apparently I did the exact same thing to her. So...for about another 9 weeks I suppose I will continue to fight the good fight...not just for sleep or for lung space (which is getting less and less daily), but also the boxing match that ensues every night.

My man!

So today I fell asleep for a bit and woke up to the weed eater outside. When I walked out to the living room I saw my husband through the window donning his ballistic sunglasses with weedeater in hand. I feel the reason for my taking the picture speaks for itself...he makes me laugh...he is so cute!

Dr. Appt.

So for those of you who have been checking this and nothing has changed...I hope this will suffice for now...

I had another appt. today with my ob/gyn for my week 30 check up. They did all the usual things like take weight and blood pressure as well as a urine sample (sorry!). Then my doctor checked the size of the little guy (which was normal) and we listened to his heartbeat for a few seconds (he has a fast, strong little heartbeat just like daddy!). Then the usual questions about anything unusual or alarming that I may be experiencing...but I never really have anything exciting to share b/c Brayden is just so well behaved (aside from commandearing my abdomen, squirming all night, and having the hiccups on occasion for LONG amounts of time). Maybe next visit I'll make up something really interesting just to see what the doctor says. Although, if you met my doctor you would realize, like we quickly did, that not a whole lot rattles his feathers. He's what you'd call mellow...VERY mellow! At any rate, things looked and sounded good to him. So now I will just see him in 2 more weeks. My appointments are every two weeks starting now until I'm 36 weeks and then they will be every week until I deliver.

Sorry I dont have any cute pictures to add to this, but Luke and I will make up for all that in about 8-10 weeks.

The latest update on Kristin

Here's the latest on Kristin for those of you who have not seen it yet in email form.

The Month of March

A quick rundown of the month of March (and early April). Kristin's parents came down for their Spring Break at the beginning of the month. We couldn't provide them with 80 degree temperatures but the 60's and 70's were much better than the freezing temperatures that they left. One of the big highlights of the week was the Pooh tree that Gigi painted for Brayden for when he gets here.

At the end of the month, my parents with Isaac and Hannah came for their Spring Break. They were able to enjoy being the first to swim in our pool and having an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. We were also able to enjoy some time on Fort Hood with a trip to the 4ID museum and trip to the bowling alley for a few games. A good time was had by all and they were able to evacuate before our record low temperatures that brought snow for probably the first time ever in April. We enjoyed the time we were able to spend with both families and we look forward to this summer when they all come back for our new arrival.

Here we go!

Here we go again! We've already tried our hand at this thing once but the combination of not being able to post pictures on wordpress and our posts generally being about ourselves the motivation was not there. Now, with a little guy on the way we figure even if nobody wants to hear what's going on with us, most of you will care about seeing and hearing about him. So with that we're off! We won't make any promises, but to those of you who view our blog we will try to post enough to keep your interest up.
